About the Class

The objective to competitive Judo is to throw an opponent, immobilize them with a pin, or force an opponent to subbmit with a joint lock or a choke. Judo's philosophy revolves around two primary principles: "Seiryoku-Zenyo" ( 'good use of energy') and "Jita-Kyoei" ( 'mutual welfare and benefit').

Jeff  Stout

Since the age of 8, Jeff Stout has competed in the sport of Judo. In the 15 years of practicing the sport,
Stout has competed for the United States in the under 21 Pan American Championships (2018) and the
under 21 world championships. Stout has also won three consecutive national championships for under
21 90kg division (2017, 2018, 2019) as well as the NCJA collegiate national championships (2019).
Following the pandemic, Stout is a current USA Judo certified coach and has been promoted by USA
Judo to third degree (San-dan) black belt and has a new goal of coaching and developing the next
generation of Judo athletes.
